Hard plastic packaging can be put in your yellow-lid recycling bin or taken to any Waste and Recycling Centre for free (for loads under 1m3). Empty contents, but no need to rinse.
Hard plastic includes bottles like water bottles, shampoo, detergent, body wash, sauce bottles, empty cleaning bottles and hard plastic containers like biscuit trays, fruit punnets and takeaway containers.
If you are unsure, check the packaging for the Australasian Recycling Label.
Some eligible containers can be redeemed using the NSW Container Deposit Scheme, Return and Earn for a 10c refund - find your closest Return and Earn Reverse Vending Machine.
