Using Waste Vouchers

BEGA VALLEY SHIRE COUNCIL PROPERTY OWNERS RECEIVE FOUR FREE WASTE DISPOSAL VOUCHERS EACH YEAR FOR USE AT COUNCIL WASTE AND RECYCLING CENTRES.  VOUCHERS ARE ISSUED ANNUALLY, AND ARE VALID FROM 1ST AUGUST, EXPIRING JULY 31ST THE FOLLOWING YEAR.    WHAT CAN I USE MY VOUCHER FOR? Each voucher allows FREE drop-off of any ONE of the following:  * 0.5 cubic metre of general waste (landfill)* OR * 1 cubic metre of garden waste* (not accepted at all Centres) OR * 1 inner spring mattress OR * 1 fridge or freezer OR * Redeemable for 1 cubic metre of compost (subject to availability)           * Subject to assessment by site attendant   HOW TO ACCESS YOUR VOUCHERS Property owners can access their vouchers on this app by tapping the ‘Waste Vouchers’ button on the app homescreen and following the prompts.  You'll need the property address and assessment number (found on the properties rates notice) to access your vouchers. Vouchers can also be downloaded and printed via Councils website.    SHARING VOUCHERS WITH TENANTS  Waste vouchers can be easily transferred between people and tenants. Property owners can share waste vouchers with tenants by: * Sharing a screenshot of an electronic voucher OR * Providing a printed paper voucher  Please make sure the voucher barcode is clearly visible so the voucher can be scanned at redemption.   VOUCHER FAQ Q. Can I use multiple waste vouchers for a large load? A. Yes, you may present either single or multiple waste vouchers for any single load.    Q. Can I share my vouchers with someone else?  A. Yes. Vouchers can be transferred between people by sharing a screenshot of the electronic voucher or by providing a printed paper voucher. This allows vouchers to be passed on to family, friends or tenants.    Q. Where can I use my vouchers? A. Vouchers can be used at all our Waste and Recycling Centres across the Bega Valley.   Q. Can I get a credit for unused vouchers? A. No credit is provided for loads presented which do not use the full value of the voucher. Vouchers are not transferable and are not redeemable for cash.    Q. If I have opted for a paper voucher, can I change my mind and request an electronic voucher? A. Yes, contact Council on (02) 6499 2222 to request this change.   Q. If I have previously opted to have a paper voucher, do I need to request a paper voucher each year? A. No, if you have already submitted the ‘Request a Paper Voucher’ form, it will be recorded on your rates assessment and automatically be posted to you each year.
