Tea bags should be placed in your red-lid landfill bin. Most bags are made from finely woven plastics and cannot be composted.
If your brand of tea bags is made from a plant-based material or certified compostable, they may be composted safely at home. Alternatively, cut the bag and place the tea leaves in your FOGO bin before disposing of the bag in your red-lid landfill bin.
